The Centre National de la Danse (CND), the French National Dance Center, is an institution sponsored by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication which studies dance in all its aspects: promotion of shows and choreographers, dissemination of choreographic culture, artistic creation, and teaching intended for experienced students. The CND also trains State qualified dance teachers and artist-choreographers.

It was very important to have scalable IP equipment that would be easy to manage. It must cover the Center's 15,000sqm area. Considering the mobility of the artists and participants, it is also essential that the telephony system is extremely easy to use. Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise and its partner Résophone were ready to listen to our requests, present and reliable throughout the installation.

Challenges

  • The CND has a 15,000 m² building accommodating employees, students and participants and 12 dance studios.
  • It is vital that the employees can be reached at all times no matter where they are in the building.
  • The CND therefore had a major requirement in terms of mobility.
  • The initial telephone installation was 100% TDM.
  • The CND has an office at Lyon and also required a multi-site high speed solution.
